Officer Miller collapsed into cardiac arrest during a run Thursday morning while participating in a physical fitness test. He was trying out for a special response team. CPR was initiated, and he was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Officer Miller was 24 years old and had served with the Kentucky Department of Corrections for two years. He is survived by his mother and sister.
