DEPUTY CALEB CONLEY

Deputy Sheriff Caleb Conley was shot and killed while conducting a routine traffic stop near mile marker 127 on southbound I-75 in Georgetown, KY at approximately 4:45 pm on May 22, 2023.

The subject's vehicle alerted a license plate reader showing a wanted person. As Deputy Conley approached the vehicle, he was shot. He was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries an hour later.

The subject fled the scene but was arrested a short time later. He has been charged with the murder of a police officer, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, burglary, theft of an automobile, wanton endangerment, and fleeing/evading police.

Deputy Conley was a U.S. Army veteran and had served with the Scott County Sheriff's Office for four years. He is survived by his wife, two children, and parents.

MILE MARKER 127

As many know, Caleb was killed at mile marker 127 on I 75 southbound in Georegtown/Scott County. Agencies from around Scott County gathered on May 22, 2024 at 1636 hours, exactly one year after Caleb made his final call to place a memorial in Calebs memory.

KENTUCKY BROTHERHOOD

Our friends at Kentucky Brotherhood rode nearly 400 miles across the State of Kentucky to honor the fallen. They finished their four day ride in Scott County at the Scott County Sheriff's Office honoring our own Deputy Caleb Conley.

Agencies across Scott County gathered at mile marker 127 on May 22, 2024 to place a memorial where Caleb was killed.
